Manuscript magazine:
Manuscript Class Magazine was done by every class and each child was given a chance to express his or her ideas and views in their own creative way. Best Class manuscript was awarded.
Reading Week:
The reading week was observed in the school by providing the students three leading news papers and very many good books for their personal use. Newspaper Quiz competition on current events was conducted during this week. The TBS Book Centre from Calicut displayed good books in the auditorium for the students.
Class Library:
Class Library was introduced and the students brought many books for display and for personal reading. The best class library and the class which collected the highest number of library books were awarded. Students are encouraged to read good books. The one who reads many books is given a prize on the Annual Prize day.
School Investiture
The school Head boy and Head girl were elected by the students from std Vth to the XII.
Master Alan Jose won the highest votes and had taken the place of a Head Boy of the School. Miss. Meenakshi was elected as a Head Girl. Investiture celebration was held in the presence of the newly elected P.T.A. President Mr. Sherry George the advocate and Manager Sr. Jovita A.C.
Promotion of Life skills
Dance, yoga, karate and Music are part of their curricular activities. Many of them receive championship and win the competitions.
Disclose Talent Seminar:
Mrs. Rukmani from Calicut University a Government authorized resource person was a great gift to our school and to our students for two days. An efficient person who taught Glass painting, fabric painting and Shilpagar painting for the students of std IV to IX.The students profited out of it and they conducted a display of their paintings which were marvel to our eyes.
Scouts and Guides:
The scouts and Guides join all the camps conducted by the State Board. Eleven students received Rajapuraskar award in 2016 and two students are preparing for this same award and attended three day camp at Pookottumpapdam 28th to 31st Dec.2017
CCTV Installation:
32 cameras have been installed and a one more Smart classroom with all the necessary fittings of the audio visual aid had also been fixed in the 2nd floor new block.
Abacus Programme:
This year the School has provided an opportunity for the students who are interested in learning abacus twice a week after the regular school from 3.30 to 4.30. The students attend this class without fail. Two tutors come from Perinthalmanna regularly.
Study tours:
XII std students went on a tour to Bangalore. Principal and 5 other teachers accompanied them. Those two days were days of enrichment and enjoyment.

Counseling sessions:
Our students are blessed to have our Manager Sr. Jovita who gives counseling once a week. Most of the students make use of this opportunity and get profited.
1000 fruit saplings were distributed to the children to plant in their homes and their surroundings. All the children carried saplings to
their homes. Many fruit trees were planted in and around the school ground. The media highlighted our programme in the leading news papers.
Three new classrooms in the first floor and two audio visual rooms in the second floor was blessed by Rev. Father Rabin
On the same day, foundation stone was laid for the ramp and a Lift for the existing building by Rev. Fr. Rabin the Vicar of the Infant Jesus Shrine.
Independence Day and Republic day celebrations:
To inculcate a sense of patriotism among the students, Independence Day and the republic day were celebrated in a grand manner. Patriotic songs by the school choir ignited the spirit of patriotism in children. The Drill display in co- ordination with drum was feast to the eyes. PTA president Mr. Sherry George, Advocate gave message and the National flag was hoisted by our Principal

Teachers day:
The higher secondary students welcomed the teachers with a rose and prepared the students for many cultural items and a few games were conducted for the teachers. Prizes were given to the teachers.
Childrens’ day Celebration: Class wise the teachers conducted variety of games for boys and girls. The finals of all the classes were conducted in common on 14th November. The morning assembly was conducted by the teachers with variety of items. Children enjoyed our teachers on the stage.
The teachers performed colourful cultural items for the children’s day. Prizes were given to the students for their games and other competitions. Sweets were distributed to all.
In connection with Christmas celebration Carol’s competition and making of Christmas Greeting cards were conducted and prizes were given. On December 8th Suppose Christmas was celebrated with a beautiful skit on the Birth of Jesus Christ.
Service Learning and Immersion
The savings of the previous years and the timely collection from the students of rupees
4, 00,000/- was a great help to begin the house construction. This money had been used for building a concrete roof and the renovation of the house of our ex student and teacher Miss. Aneena Edison who is on our staff from 2016. The house was having low tin sheets as its roof. This produced a lot of heat due to which her mother had a chronically wheezing and ailments. Thus this house was chosen as the Mother Veronica Housing project for the year 2017. This house` VERONICA VILLA’ was blessed by Rev. Father Rabin S.J. on 7th July 2017. The students were taken to the house and we had short prayer and met the family members and shared their joy.
As a part of our immersion progarmme we went to Thalanji and made the special children feel special. We gave different performances to entertain them. They enjoyed their day.
They were given
3 sacks of rice,
Lots of soaps,
Number of stationary items,
Drawing text books 2 big boxes,
Handwriting books of English, Hindi and Malayalam.
They were given laddus as they watched the entertaing programme. Our students performed a meaningful programme with the life of Mother Veronica.
The students of Scouts and Guides also performed short skits and comic.
Cakes were given to commemorate 150th year of our Foundation on Nov. 16t
Teachers contrtibution:
Students of std.XII & XI visited Shalom Matha old age women home and performed a beautiful and inspiring programme. The inmates were very happy and the Sister in charge thanked the students and the teachers. Also they thanked the Principal and the management. We thank our students for their generous contribution of bed sheets for the old women.
This year we wanted to make our celebration meaningful by inviting the less privileged families and their children of Adivasi colony of Chaliyar Palakkayam Peripatetic School, Malappuram District. This is the one and the only Peripathetic School in Malappuram District. We invited them to our school to celebrate Onam with them.
There were 15 families who brought their children with them. The chief Guest Mr. Dhakshinamoorthy the NGO organisation, who is a visually impaired person, gave a meaningful message on the occasion of Onam.
The PTA President Mr. Sherry George, the Advocate and the Principal presented the following useful toys for the Adivasi children.

Three T.V. channel and other media covered the entire programme and telecasted in the T.V. and in the news papers. Payasam was distributed to all the students and all those came for the cultural function.
The students generously contributed money to help a kidney patient Mr. Ramsheed a fatherless young boy. We had collected Rs.10,000. This money was given to him for his treatment. He is a talented boy. He displayed all his collection of stamps, coins and antiques which was an enlightenment and encouragement for the students. Though he is an invalid he could make use of his talents in a profitable manner for others.
Our Convent helper Mrs. Thangu chechi was given Rs.30, 000/- to build a small room The small saving money was used for this purpose.
Rajan 50,000 ?
The Anganwadi children were given new story books, picture books and handwriting books on the Reading week. On receiving the new books the little ones were indeed very happy. They were accompanied by the parents. WE had get-together with the parents. After a short talk to the parents the refreshment was served for all of them.
Our school Watchman and his family have been helped by the school in different ways. Mr. Mohammed and Hadeeja his wife are suffering from chronical astma and diabetes. They had been given medical treatment for three months.
November 9th students of 8th went to palliative care to meet the inmates and offered a sack of rice and bed rests for the sick.
Onam Charity:

Bed sheets for the deserving people and menial workers.
Clothing and dress materials for the poor families.
Nallapadam : Vegetable garden, Medicinal garden
Mazhavil Puraskaram by Nallapadam we received the cash award of Rs.5000 for Nallapadam activities during the academic year 2016-2017.
Students maintain garden on their own.
In connection with the Kerala Piravi our students participated handwriting competition. We had secured the first place in Malappuram . The award was Rs.2, 000/-
Sesquicentennial Jubilee Year
To begin the 150th year of Foundation of the Apostolic Carmel we had the following events
Annual Sports Day
The school Sports meet was held on 10th November 2017. It was inaugurated by PTA President Mr. Sherry George, the function was held in the basket ball ground. Olympic torch was given to Naveed mercury captain followed by the march past. PTA executive members witnessed the programme and encouraged the athletes. Events like
Throws, jumps and races were held. 5000m marathon running was the kingpin of the day. The winners were awarded with wonderful trophies and medals. All the participants were given certificates.
District Tournament
District Cricket Tournament was held in Peeves Public School. Our school secured Overall Championship. Balagopal of std 12 was selected as the Man of the Match.
District Level Football Match
District football Tournament was held in Peeves Public School. Our students secured 3rd position. And they were awarded with certificates, medals and trophy
Athletic Meet
This was conducted in Calicut University Ground. Many took active part and received 3rd and 4th positions.
Chess competition:
Students under 17 and 19 took part in chess competition it was held in St.Joseph’s English School , Puthanangadi .
Malapuram Sahodhaya competitions
Our students participated in various competitions and secured a few prizes.
1st place – 7 students
2nd place - 16 students
3rd place - 11 students
The 30 students who secured 1st and 2nd in district participated in state level at IES public school ,Chittilappally Trisshur
Our students participated in many competitions and secured second place for the Short Film- DARK LADO. It was directed by 12th standard students.
Our school magazine secured 3rd place on Malapuram Sahodhaya competition
This year the science fest Inventum ‘17 was hosted by Famagiri English School and was inaugurated on 28th October by Dr.V.S. Ramachandran veteran scientist, Calicut. Inventum logo was designed by Principal Sr. Renita and was presented at the
Press conference. The same was telecasted in TV channels and newspapers. Quiz competition was conducted. Many schools participated in this Science project, still and working models were exhibited and our school won the overall championship trophy.
On November 11th Spec, 8th std seminar was conducted. The resource persons were Mr.Lambart Kishore psychologist, professor of zoology at Malabar Christian College. He dealt with social awareness among teenagers and also spoke about the role in the society as a mature adult.
Nov.23rd a half day session on Savings and Financial Discipline was conducted for the students of std. VIII. This helped the students and their families. Mrs. R.P. Vidhyawathy was the resource person the financial advisor.
